My name is James Neish and I work and play in a variety of visual media, usually as a painter and illustrator.
I was born in Cebu City, Philippines, where I was raised and educated in a highly multicultural setting. In 2004, I graduated magna cum laude from the University of the Philippines with a Bachelor’s degree in Fine Art. During this period, I organized and facilitated summer art workshops for children of all ages while developing, writing, and illustrating comic book titles for local publication, Popcorn Comics.
After university, I led a team of Content Illustrators for Cleverlearn/Bigfoot Global Solutions Inc., designing English tutorial software for two years while coordinating and participating in art exhibits. In 2006, I decided to explore the opposite end of the world and seek fresh perspectives and opportunities in Halifax, Canada, where I currently reside.
